Project Description

Cannon Street

Traditional features and over 700m³ of natural stone

Located on 25 Cannon Street in London, this £3.5m project was completed for Fidelity Investments.

Our Portland stone Coombefield whitbed was specified by architects RHWL to be used for the building’s hand set cladding.

This was one of the largest new build Portland limestone buildings in recent times. The building offer 10,800 m² of office accommodation and a 500 m² restaurant clad in over 700 m³ of our stone.

Scheme

The building was specifically designed to nestle into its environment. For example, it uses 40 Tuscan columns on the east elevation to integrate and compliment St Paul’s Cathedral, which is located directly opposite.

Set on an island site, the entrance space is approached via a colonnade and leads to a vaulted entrance hall. There are 5 upper storeys with a central atrium rising through the upper 3 floors.

Cannon Street showcases our manufacturing and masonry capabilities in being able to deliver large, modern buildings with traditional features.
