Portland Stone Walling

This walling is typically 75mm to 100mm thick with 1 honed face, sizes should be kept to around 705mm long x 450mm high to be the most cost effective. Random lengths with set course heights not exceeding are usually 10% cheaper with 75mm thick walling typically costing £150 plus vat per metre square. We also supply random cropped walling which is typically 100mm thick & costs £26 per metre square.

We can produce stone to any shape or architectural feature, Columns, balusters, copings, string courses, window cill and heads, Jambs, etc, to name but a few of the products we supply. Typically stones longer than 1,200mm or higher than 800mm will attract a premium rate and should be avoided for cost reasons.


Portland Stone Paving

We can supply an extensive variety of Portland stone paving. From stones with almost no shell content - to stones with a rich attractive variety of features.

When considering the size of Portland stone paving slabs - the larger the slab the more expensive it will generally be. Slabs should always be kept under 600mm wide and 1,000mm long. Stones exceeding this size will normally be 2 to 3 times more expensive per square metre. The most economical way to purchase paving is to have set widths of around 500mm with random lengths. External Portland stone paving at 50mm thick would typically cost £100m2 (plus VAT). Internal paving around 30mm thick would typically cost £75m2 (plus VAT).
